This week, actually, this month, has been incredibly choppy,
I know how I feel right now, and how many of you are probably feeling the same way.
The markets are chaotic, the setups aren’t working the way they used to, and my account balance is dropping.
Frustration, doubt, and sometimes even anger set in.
But I want to remind myself of one essential thing: I’ve been through this before.
Chopiness is part of the cycle.
Drawdowns aren’t a sign that I’ve “lost my edge,” but proof that I’ve been in the market long enough to experience them.
The best traders aren’t the ones who avoid drawdowns, but the ones who weather them without compromising their discipline or capital.
I need to take a breath and accept reality. This isn’t the time to fight the market. It’s time to protect myself
To reduce risk.
Filter my setups. Take only the clearest ones, the ones with the highest probability.
Take a break if needed.
Reread my journal. Review the last 20–30 trades. Did I deviate from the rules? Or is it just normal variance? The answer will show me the way
This period will pass. The markets will calm down, trends will return, and my edge will find fertile ground again. But only if I’m here when it happens.
I won’t increase my positions. I won’t change my strategy. I’ll protect my capital, stick to the process, and let time do the rest.
I’ve been through this before. I’ll get through this too.
