This is perhaps the most important post I have ever made.
I believe this with all my heart, as this type of content is very rare in this industry.
Me, exposing, sharing everything I did throughout the entire month of trading.
Most traders post the highlight reel.
They show one screenshot where they made X amount of dollars.
They hide the red days, the performance, the risk that they took to gain the profit.
That is not real trading, that is marketing.
As you guys know, I committed to being as transparent as I possibly can be.
I am taking a huge risk. At the risk of being publicly shamed and judged, I have decided to share my monthly trading review publicly for everyone to see.
..as I believe this can do more good for the public than it will cause damage to myself.
Without further ado, here you go.
This month I made $8,362.
However, if I only told you that, it wouldn’t help you at all.
As you know, we have to get into the risk measures I took to achieve this.
Now that you’ve seen this.
If you study these numbers and what they mean, you will understand that my trading for the month of January was sub-mediocre!!
If you measure the drawdown from the ATH to what it was at the end of the month, you’re going to see 18.33%.
This is an absolute no-go!!
Yes, you can argue that these were unrealized profits, so they weren’t yours in the first place.
It’s never profit until you realize it.
However… I should never have given that much profit back to the markets.
Now, to go even deeper into the performance analysis, I’ve created a video.
A video where I literally take every single trade and analyze it.
I chose to make a video because if I did it in writing, I would have had to write a book, as there is way too much to cover.
I recommend you watch the entire video, ESPECIALLY THE LAST PART.
Why? Because in the last part, I analyzed the cost of my execution errors.
You might think I am being too harsh on myself.
This is not the case.
As these mistakes, like good decisions, they compound.
These mistakes will affect me over the following months.
This was very painful for me to write and make.
My trading is usually very calm and without emotion, but when I did the review, I was filled with emotions.
Please understand this was not easy to share, and this might be one of the reasons why traders don’t do this.
Why do I do this?
Why do I spend hours documenting every entry and exit?
Because you cannot fix what you do not measure.
The biggest difference between a struggling trader and a profitable one isn’t the strategy. It’s the review process.
Amateurs place a trade, lose money, get angry, and try again.
Pros place a trade, lose money, review the tape, and adjust.
Journaling is the only way to stop bleeding money on the same mistake twice.
That is where the financial freedom lives.
